Rare Facts About The Internet

Commercial internet service since its inception in the 80s has changed human existence and how we communicate, learn and generally live. If you really think about it, the Internet has become a ‘god’ of sorts for billions. Why? Because they can’t live without it!

In honour of this modern day deity, we compiled a few rare facts about the Internet that you not be aware of:

  • Every minute, 72 hours of YouTube videos are uploaded by internet users across the world. This comes to a total of 103,680 hours every day!
  • 250 billion emails are sent daily. Of these, 81% are spam. That’s 202,500,000,000 of spam messages sent out everyday. Just to be clear, spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it.

  • Modern Humans using the Internet usually have short attention spans. 50% of us leave a loading video after 10 seconds and skip to the next video on the page. No chill whatsoever.
