Nigerians Who Dominated TechCrunch’s #DisruptSF

Last week, Nigeria was proudly represented at TechCrunch’s #DisruptSF. TechCrunch Disrupt is a yearly event organized by globally recognised tech platform TechCrunch. Disrupt is an event organised for tech geeks and global tech organization to showcase their latest products and inventions.

At this year event, Nigeria was proudly represented by 2 outstanding tech personalities; Fope Adelowo and Tayo Oviosu.

Fope Adelowo is the Vice President of one of the largest private equity funds in Africa Helios Investment Partners. Acknowledged as one of the most experience individuals in Tech investment, Fope was invited to discuss topics of Fintech, retail, data privacy, VC investment and the continent’s future on unicorn and IPO prospects. At #DisruptSF, Fope, shared the success stories of Interswitch and Mall For Africa; tech companies managed by Helios Investment Partners.

Tayo Oviosu is the CEO of PAGA. PAGA is the leading digital payment provider in Nigeria. Since Its’s inception in 2012, PAGA has processed 57 million transactions worth $3.6 billion, reached 9 million users and achieved profitability, according to Tayo. He also mentioned that he mentors mentor younger startups as an angel investor in Nigeria.
