Aamito Lagum

Her childhood recounts tales of being taunted for her body frame and dreams of being a lawyer. Aamito grew into her body type and pursued a career in modeling following a friend’s advice. By 17, she walked her first runway at the Ugandan fashion week, got a Mass communication degree at 20 and by 21, she took a leap of faith and rode a 16 hour bus ride to audition for Oluchi at the Africa’s next top model audition in Nairobi where her “modern look and true representation of an African woman” won her the title of Africa’s Next Top Model Cycle 1 alongside endorsement deals and $50,000.
